REVIEW - TOPSHOP LIPSTICK
10:07 am

I have been looking for a deep red lipstick for a while now and I was torn between two makes, MAC and Topshop. MAC lipsticks are priced at £14.00 whereas the Topshop lipsticks are just £8.00. In the end I chose to go with the Topshop lipstick in 'Hazard' for many reasons; 1. There isn't a MAC store for miles whereas there is a Topshop store just 30 minutes away 2. Topshops lipsticks are a lot cheaper and 3. they were pretty much the exact same shades and i'd heard that the quality was pretty much the same :) I am extremely pleased that I went with this decision. The Topshop lipstick is extremely pigmented, moisturising but not shiny like a lipgloss (I prefer matt lipsticks over glossy ones), the packaging is pretty neat and it's a lot cheaper! I also get a discount which makes it even cheaper, boooyaaa. Overall I think i'd give it a 9/10 just because something has to be extremely brilliant for me to give it a 10/10 ;)
Have you guys tried the Topshop lipsticks? How did you find them? :)

A FEW MINI PURCHASES.
4:08 pm
hey guys, so i'm really sorry i haven't made an appearance around here in like a week, maybe even longer! i've been so busy with assignments and uni so my social life has been pretty boring really, not going to lie. anyway i've picked up two really nice things this week that i wanted to show you. i will do reviews for you on them when i've used them and can tell whether i really do like them and find much use in them when i get a chance. so here they are!

first thing was a touch up kit from the new MAC holiday collection, it cost me £30 which seems a little bit pricey i guess, but it is just the cutest thing and i'm hoping i will get a lot of use out of the kit when i'm on the go and things.
this defiantly was the more exciting package out of the two and it is the key pouch in demiar azur white canvas print. at £105 it was just ridiculously expensive, but no, that didn't stop me from buying it. i have heard only great things about this little piece and so i'm hoping it will be worth every single penny, i just love it!
p.s - sorry, just instagram pictures today! i haven't had a chance to snap nice shots of them yet so keep an eye out for those and check out my instagram feed at: instagram.com/sybilmaee for daily life updates.

MAC.
12:44 pm

so here is a little list of all the mac products i am dyeing to try out! i've had my eye on the lipsticks for a while but couldn't decide between shades. the coral bliss and shy girl are my favourites and i think my first purchase is going to be the coral bliss. i go very pale in the winter so i don't want something so subtle that it is going to wash me out but i don't want something to eye catching, i'm not looking to make a statement, that's just not me! i'm also in need of some advice, i get particularly oily skin as the day goes on but for a few hours after i first wash my face, my skin is quite dry. i guess you'd call that combination skin, maybe? i'm not sure. anyway, i need some advice on which mac foundation would be best for my type of skin. i've heard some great things about the mac foundations and i want to pick one that will best suit my skin as it isn't cheap and i don't want it to go to waste! so if you guys can help out at all, send me an email! i would ask the ladies on the mac counter but i'm going to have to buy online because i don't have a mac store or counter anywhere near me :/ all help will be appreciated! :)

YSL BEAUTY.
2:06 pm
so i have been trying out these two products from YSL for a while now, the touche éclat radiant touch, in no.1 (rose lumiere) and the mascara volume effect faux cils also in no.1 (noir haute densite/high density black). i brought them in a duo travel pack collection in the duty free section for around £40 for the pair on the way to NY and i wanted to know exactly how good or not they were long term before i gave my opinion on them. a lot of people rave about the touch éclat and it really does live up to the hype! it's amazing, the best under eye concealer i've ever tried! most under eye concealers i feel still leave a faint blueness (if you get what i mean..) but this one doesn't, it conceals dark circles perfectly. the mascara is also one of my favourites and the only one i use from day to day now. the picture below of the brush makes it seem like a gloopy kind of formula but i don't feel that it actually is in real life. it is a great mascara if you want lengthy looking lashes, i feel.

i have had a quick look at what these generally retail for here in the UK and i have found that they both retail for around £25 which in my oppinion is pretty pricey. it sounds so much less when you say £40 for both! even though it really is only £10 cheaper but i guess, a saving is a saving!
p.s - i nearly forgot to tell you guys! tomorrow there is a guest post coming up on halloween from Monika over at tooodayi. so stay tuned for that!

the red lip.
3:57 pm
Having pale skin, bright blue eyes, dark hair and naturally red red lips, I often find myself accentuating my naturally red lips with my favourite Lancome red lipstick (Shade 104). At the time when I purchased it I was looking for as close to a matt finish as I could get as a gloss finish to a lipstick doesn't seem to get my heart racing which made Lancome's shade perfect. Below are some images I loved from Buro 24/7 of models rocking the red lip this season.
