PERFECT CROSS-BODY.
10:05 pm
So i've been shopping around lately as i'm in need of another small (or should I say smaller..) cross-body handbag. I'm currently the owner of a standard (or medium, i'm not quite sure what they call the 'normal' sized Alexa) sized Mulberry Alexa. It was limited edition of 150 exclusively to Selfridges here in the UK. I haven't got a picture of it to show you because this post isn't really meant to be about this handbag but more about the handbags I have been looking at to purchase; instead I will describe it to you. It is made from a slightly off white textured soft leather with gorgeous silver hardware. For the extremely large price tag I expected it to be fairly sturdy but no, it scuffs like nothing I have ever known before. The light colour is also prone to what i'm going to call 'jean staining'. Seen as it is a limited edition and I more than likely wont ever come across another one of this 150 again I want it to last a life time and that is why I tend to not use it as much as i'd like to... That is why i'm looking for another less expensive but still leather handbag that I can use on a day to day basis until it falls apart knowing that I can legitimately buy another one just like it to replace it. So here I give to you a little list that contains handbags that I deem more appropriate as a busy girls everyday 'run around'.
Marc by Marc Jacobs - Classic Q Natasha Shoulder Bag - £310
* I just love the colour of this gorgeous small cross-body bag. It is stated as a shoulder bag but i'm thinking the strap is long enough to go cross-body. It appears to be the perfect size for my needs going by the dimensions on the Selfridges website but I have yet to see this purchase in real life (which I will be doing before making any purchase!) It is fairly pricey but not outrageously and is the perfect size to fit essentials. I also tend to have a saw back if i'm carrying a big bag around for a long period of time and so this size is perfect.
Mulberry - Dorset Nappa Leather Medium Tote - £325
* From the dimensions given on the website, it appears to not be as large as I thought it would be but still big enough to fit everything in it that I would need. It isn't a cross-body design but I could work around that factor... I love the plain simple design and the colour of the brown leather.
Rebecca Minkoff - M.A.C (Morning After Clutch) Clutch - Ecru - $295 (about £186)
* I have heard nothing but good things about this so called clutch bag. It comes in three variable sizes, mini, clutch and daddy. I wouldn't need it to be to large so no 'daddy', nor to small so no mini. The normal clutch size appears to be perfect though. It also has a much better price tag then the other two bags i've got my eye on which is extremely appealing. It also comes in a whole array of colours as well as sizes. I would have to have it imported into the country though if I was to buy it directly from the Rebecca Minkoff website which would mean possibly import duties which I would have to consider against the price tag.
I'm not sure which bag is going to suite my needs best and i'm going to eye up the Mulberry and Marc Jacobs options in real life to get a true idea of the size. Unfortunately I wont be able to do this with the Rebecca Minkoff because there is nowhere within travelling distance of me that sells them, bummer! I will keep you up to date with my final decision when I make it!
Hope you all had a good weekend! x
